A Search for a New Form between the NGO and the Public Organisation

After analysing the historical evolution of institutional and non-institutional artistic organisations (in the 60s, 80s, and this decade), this working group will try to find a new organisational form. The existing forms (i.e. the dichotomy of NGOs and public institutions) are clearly not enough. In many cases, they are not responding to current production needs. Our discussion will try to define the best, ideal, utopian form, and at the same time put forward concrete suggestions for a form that would possess the best features of the old – both stability and freedom.
